At Camp Grace Bentley, we understand that you may have questions about our camp, registration process, activities, and the support we provide to our campers. Below, we've compiled answers to some of the most common queries to help you navigate your camp experience with ease.
  • Does the camp have air conditioning?

    Yes! All cabins, the main lodge, the recreational center, and the hobby shop all have air.

  • What should my camper bring to camp?

    Clothing for six days: including clothes for both warm and cool weather. Personal hygiene items, towels (bath and beach), and a "special outfit" for the dance. A complete list will be provided with your acceptance letter.

  • Can parents visit the campers?

    We strongly advise against this. It encourages homesickness for all of the campers.



  • Can my camper attend more then one session?

    Yes! as many as they would like.

  • How long is each session?

    From Sunday at 3:00 PM to Friday at 3:00 PM

  • What is the daily schedule?

    7:30 - Arise

    8:30 - Breakfast

    9:00 to 12:30 - Morning activities

    12:30 - Lunch

    1:15 to 2:30 - Rest time

    2:30 to 5:30 - Afternoon activities

    5:30 - Dinner

    6:30 to 9:30 - Evening activities

    9: 30 - Bedtime

  • What types of activities do you have at Camp Grace Bentley?

    Swimming (lake or heated pool), team sports, dances, bonfires, various games, arts and crafts, indoor games, and movie nights.



  • Are meals provided?

    Yes! we provide 3 meals a day

  • What if my camper becomes ill during their stay at camp?

    We have an infirmary where campers with minor ailments can stay until they are feeling better. If the ailment is more serious, the parent or guardian will be called and the camper may have to return home.

  • Will my child be able to recieve their medications while at camp?

    Yes. We have a health officer on-site who is certified to distribute medications. All medications must be in the original container with the camper's name and doctor's orders on the label.

  • What other facilities does the camp have?

    Our camp boasts a wide range of amenities to make every camper’s stay memorable. The lodge is a cozy gathering spot featuring a large-screen TV, games, karaoke, and more—ideal for movie nights or staying entertained on rainy days. Creative campers can enjoy our hobby shop, where they can dive into arts and crafts projects. The recreation hall is the perfect venue for plays, dances, and other exciting group activities. All meals are served in our spacious dining hall, where campers come together to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes.


    We also have a chapel, which doubles as an additional recreation center for special activities and can be rented out during the off-season for events like weddings. Our wheelchair-accessible in-ground heated pool is a relaxing spot for swimming, and, of course, Lake Huron offers endless opportunities for water-based fun.


    Other camp highlights include our spacious, easy-to-use shower house, a charming gazebo for peaceful moments, and a bonfire area, perfect for evening gatherings. Each of these spaces is designed to enhance the camp experience and provide comfort, entertainment, and relaxation.

  • Where do the campers shower?

    We have 2 shower houses. One for boys and the other for girls.



  • What is provided in the cabins?

    Each cabin is thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience, featuring a single bed, dresser, and nightstand for each camper. The cabins also include a private bathroom equipped with a toilet and sink, ensuring a cozy and practical space for relaxation and personal care.

  • Where is Camp Grace Bentley Located?

    On Lake Huron in Burtchville, Michigan which is just north of Port Huron. About 90 minutes from Detroit.

  • What are the age ranges per session?

    Youth and Adult camping sessions are available.


    Youth campers range in age from 7 - 17


    Adult campers are 18 and older.

  • Is the camp co-ed?

    Yes. Boys and girls are assigned to separate cabins to ensure a comfortable and respectful environment.

  • What is the camper/counslor ratio?

    Three campers to one counselor. 

  • What types of campers attend?

    At Camp Grace Bentley, we embrace individuals of all abilities and are committed to providing a welcoming environment for everyone. We accept campers with any type of disability and work to create an atmosphere where all feel supported, respected, and included. Our dedicated staff is trained to meet a variety of needs, ensuring that each camper has the opportunity to thrive and enjoy their camp experience, regardless of their abilities.



  • What types of campers is the camp unable to serve?

    Camp Grace Bentley can not serve campers with severe behavioral or emotional problems.


    The following conditions are ones that necessitate care which cannot be adequately handled by the camp health or counseling staff:

    Tracheotomy, gastronomy tubes (G-Tube), ventilator dependency 


    There are many other health conditions which will necessitate individual evaluation. Please provide as much information as possible so that our medical screening committee can evaluate the applicant.
